In this episode we interview, Larry Whitley, Assistant General Counsel of Real Estate Investments for a Fortune 100 Company! For those unfamiliar with Larry, he's a native of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a proud Rufus King High School graduate. 👦🏾 . He went on to earn a degree in Marketing from Marquette University, followed by a law degree from Marquette University Law School. 👨🏾🎓 . Larry’s journey is deeply rooted in his commitment to his profession and community. He embodies the power of combining personal experience with professional excellence. 🏋🏾♂️ . In his current role, Larry represents his company in various real estate investment activities, such as permanent and/or construction financing and joint ventures. He also plays a key role in his company’s Sustained Action for Racial Equality Task Force (SARE) and Impact Investment Committee, advocating for increased access to capital for black and brown communities.🤾🏾♂️ . As part of his community involvement, Larry serves on the Neighborhood House of Milwaukee board, a community center that provides educational and recreational opportunities for underprivileged families.

Rob is a Managing Partner and Head of U.S. Asset Management for BGO.. Rob works with the investment, asset management, and development/construction teams in this role to execute business plan activities across all US portfolios. Prior to BGO, he worked for Morgan Stanley, where he was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Real Estate and Head of Asset Management in Asia. There, he oversaw the group’s asset management activities in China, India, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, and Singapore/Southeast Asia. While working at MS he lived in NYC, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.
Before MS, he worked at PGIM. There, he worked his way up to Vice President and managed all property types across a geographically diverse value-add portfolio. His responsibilities also grew to include junior portfolio management roles for some of the firm’s separate account clients. . Rob is a native of Long Island and a proud alum of Saint Anthony's High School in Huntington Station, New York. He is also a proud alum of the University of Scranton, where he received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, and New York University, where he received his MBA. . Jay is director of Development for the Scannell Properties Southern California office, responsible for site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, construction management, marketing, leasing and dispositions for ground-up development projects throughout Southern California. Prior to joining Scannell Properties, Jay was a senior development manager for Panattoni Development Company and was an office tenant rep broker with JLL in Orange County. Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Jay served six years in the U.S. Navy in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as a supply officer in logistics/supply chain management. Jay is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Merit in Economics and was a member of the Division I Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, Master of Science in Construction Management from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in International Real Estate from Florida International University. Jay is an active member of NAIOP, serving on the board of directors of the NAIOP Inland Empire chapter and a chapter sponsor for SIOR Inland Empire and Orange County.

Tommy serves as a Practice Partner working with Brian Edmonds in the Greenwood CRE Philadelphia office. He possesses over twelve years of experience, with the last nine in exclusive Tenant Representation and Corporate Services Advisory. Day to day, Tommy advises his corporate clients in leasing, acquiring, and disposing of commercial real estate assets. A licensed (PA & NJ) and seasoned corporate real estate professional, Tommy focuses on Corporate Services for office and industrial tenant representation, property dispositions/acquisitions, portfolio management, and long-term strategic planning. His experience also includes advisory in the new FASB & IASB lease accounting standards that took effect at the end of 2021 for private companies (amended Q4 2020). Philanthropically-minded, Tommy serves on two not-for-profit boards: SEAMAAC 501(c)(3) as the Board Vice-Chair & Real Estate Committee Chair and NAAAP Greater Philadelphia 501(c)(3) as the Chief Operating Officer. Professionally, he was nominated and awarded 40 Under 40 by AL DIA News Media for the class of 2021. Tommy is a graduate of Temple University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. During his undergraduate studies, he was a member of the Men's Lacrosse Team. Tommy is multilingual, fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, and has dual citizenship in the US and Hong Kong.

Kerri-Ann serves as an Assistant Real Estate Manager and DEI leader CBRE Philadelphia. Ms. Buchanan performs periodic property inspections, responds to tenants’ requests, and prepares complete reports for vendor invoices and tenant charges. Ms. Buchanan is a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours: the first tour was in Germany during Operation Enduring Freedom. The second tour was in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ms. Buchanan is also a certified Spiritual Life Coach who takes pride in empowering her clients to achieve a fulfilled and harmonious life. Jimmy serves as an Operations Manager at Prologis and a Director of Engineering at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia (Comcast Center). Mr. White is a part of the Hotel Leadership team and oversees a group of Engineering and Maintenance specialists. Jimmy is a proud South Philly native and an Operation Iraqi Freedom U.S. Navy submarine veteran. He now serves locally for the Travis Manion Foundation (TMF), the Weekly Fight, the Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network, and several veteran centers in the Greater Philadelphia region. White received educational attainment at Delaware County Community College and the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC). Recently, Jimmy presented an unbelievable TED talk using the TED conference format.

He has contributed to the successful completion that includes, but is not limited to, Merck Pharmaceuticals, the Philadelphia Zoo, Cira Centre, Please Touch Museum, and the Howard Hughes Medical Facility. Additionally, Lin serves his community as a volunteer firefighter at the Helping Hand Fire Station in Deptford, NJ. Lin graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management.

Fred serves as a Senior Transaction Manager in CBRE’s Advisory & Transaction Services, representing occupiers and investors of office and industrial real estate. His expertise covers northern New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley of New York. Before CBRE, Sullivan was an account manager at Cushman & Wakefield. Fred is a senior pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Newark, NJ (North Ward). Broker/Pastor Sullivan graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, completed graduate coursework at NYU, and has a Master of Divinity from Drew University. Fred was recently appointed as an advisor to the Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District, which develops sustainable neighborhoods emphasizing historic preservation, urban culture, and trains minority real estate developers.
